The BirdDog P4K UHD 4K PTZ Camera is a full-NDI PTZ camera that can transmit UHD 4K/30p video from its 1-inch Sony backlit sensor. Key features include:

  • Sony 1" backlit Exmor R CMOS sensor with 14.2 MP
  • 12x optical zoom with a 9.3 to 111.6mm focal length
  • Simultaneous full NDISDI, & HDMI outputs
  • Maximum UHD 4K/30p resolution via full NDI streaming

Full-NDI 4K PTZ Camera. The BirdDog P4K UHD 4K PTZ Camera is a remote controlled PTZ camera that uses the NewTek NDI protocol for variable bitrate video over IP. Resolutions up to 3840 × 2160 are possible at 30 fps. For imaging, the P200 uses a 14.2 MP, 1", Sony backlit CMOS sensor.

Control & Switching Options. NDI cameras can be controlled with a variety of software and hardware. We recommend NewTek’s NDI Tools as a starting point for free, software-based NDI control. Hardware control is possible with the BirdDog PTZ Keyboard. For software motor control and NDI switching, we rent the NewTek TriCaster Mini Advanced HD-4 SDI Switcher Bundle. Please contact us for any hardware or software compatibility concerns.

Integrated 12x Zoom Lens. The Bird Dog P4K features a 12x optical zoom lens that will reach from 9.3 to 111.6mm. The lens can be moved at up to 100°/s with a 350° pan and -30 to 90° tilt range.

Power Over Ethernet. This camera is capable of utilizing PoE from compatible network switches, but can also be powered by the included AC adapter.

Inputs & Outputs. The camera uses an RJ45 ethernet port for NDI, but also features simultaneous video output via SDI and HDMI. Audio input and output is available with two 1/8" (3.5mm) ports.

Q & A

  • How do I use the BirdDog web remote?
    • All of our BirdDog cameras ship configured for DHCP, with the default web browser ID printed on the bottom of the camera so all you need to do is enter the web address in a browser window to get started. Once you access the web remote, you will need to enter the default password: birddog, one word, lowercase.

    • Please note that because we make every effort to ensure this camera ships in the simplest, default state, you may be subject to a camera ID recovery fee if you return the camera with a unique web ID.

  • How can I control the camera's movement?
    • For fine movement control, you’ll need the BirdDog PTZ Keyboard. This gives users control over exposure, white balance, backlight, gain, shutter, focus, iris, shutter speed, and zoom on up to 255 network-connected PTZ cameras with fully customizable parameters and camera moves.

  • Does this rental include the RS422 and RS232 adapter cables or remote control?
    • We do not include the RS422 adapter cable, RS232 adapter cable, or remote control with this rental but can send them if requested in the “special instructions” box at checkout.
