The Atomos NEON 17" 4K HDR Monitor/Recorder is a large, 17-inch 1080p production monitor with an integrated single channel recorder capable of recording ProRes RAW and CInemaDNG up to DCI 4K/60p. Key features include:

Daylight-Viewable, HDR Display. The Atomos NEON 17" 4K HDR Monitor/Recorder’s display features a 10-bit signal processor, making it capable of mapping log footage, PQ, and HLG video feeds from any source with 100% DCI-P3 coverage. The monitor’s 1000 cd/m² brightness means you can use the NEON in bright outdoor environments without requiring a hood.

Built for Cinema Standards. The Atomos NEON offers full-size HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI input and output with HDR passthrough. These high-bandwidth video connectors allow you to capture SDI RAW data from select cameras and record in ProRes RAW, Cinema DNG, Apple ProRes, or Avid DNxHR formats up to DCI 4K/60p or 1080/240p.

App Required. The NEON line of monitors use Bluetooth to connect to a iOS mobile device running the AtomRemote iOS app that in turn controls the monitor’s AtomOS settings and features. The app provides controlled playback, slow motion, frame-by-frame analysis, and preview tools. Multiple NEONs can sync to each other using sub-gigahertz RF that with a range up to 656 feet. The app will be required for settings changes.

Versatile Use. The NEON is essentially a jack-of-all trades, whether that’s out in the field on a DIT cart, setup as a 1st AC monitor / director’s monitor, or in the studio for the editing workflow. Whatever your needs, there’s a good chance it will excel.

SSDs Not Included. This rental doesn’t include an SSD, but they’re available as separate rental items.

Power Supply. At this time, we only include an AC adapter with this monitor for power. We do not have a battery solution available. The NP-F slot on the monitor is only for communication with Atomos expansion modules only. Please do not attach an NP-F battery to this slot. Doing so could damage the monitor.

Does the NP-F slot on the back of the monitor accept NP-F-style batteries for power?

Is the AtomRemote iOS app required?

Yes. The AtomRemote will be required to make settings changes on the monitor. If you do not have an iOS device, we rent iPads separately here.

Does this monitor/recorder display images in 4K?

No. This 17-inch NEON monitor is capable of recording up to DCI 4K, but it will only display input images in up to 1080p.
