Q & A

Do you rent an NDI switcher?

• Yes! We recommend the NewTek TriCaster Mini Advanced HD-4 SDI Switcher Bundle that can control up to 8 networked NDI devices. The Livestream Studio HD550 4K Live Production Switcher will also control NDI cameras, but the implementation is less robust.
• Alternatively, you can download NewTek’s NDI Tools here for free!

How do I access the BirdDog web remote?

• All of our BirdDog cameras ship configured for DHCP, with the default web browser ID printed on the bottom of the camera so all you need to do is enter the web address in a browser window to get started. Once you access the web remote, you will need to enter the default password: birddog, one word, lowercase.
• Please note that because we make every effort to ensure this camera ships in the simplest, default state, you may be subject to a camera ID recovery fee if you return the camera with a unique web ID.

Will I need anything else?

• This kit is designed to integrate into an existing local network and does not include any way to monitor or stream the camera feed.

What if I need an ethernet cable run longer than 150ft?

• We offer the Belden 150ft Cat 6A Ethernet Cable Extension as a separate rental item. Please note that long runs of cable may require a repeater. If you have questions, please contact us.
