The Profoto D2 1000Ws AirTTL Monolight is an extremely fast, extremely powerful lighting solution. With the D2, “speed” is the operative word. Key features include:

Super-Fast Operation. The Profoto D2 1000Ws AirTTL Monolight recycles to full power in just 1.2 seconds—almost half the time as the D1 1000W. The 1/50,000-second Freeze Mode flash durations make this monolight ideal for sports, special-effects photography, and any other fast-action shooting application. It offers 20 flash per second burst shooting to capture peak action, and it supports High-Speed Sync up to 1/8000 of a second to freeze action or for wide-aperture shooting. Its 10-stop power range gives you the options you need to get the shots you want.

Supports TTL Air Remote. The D2 1000Ws AirTTL offers full TTL support when matched with one of the Profoto Air Remote TTL Transceivers for Canon, Nikon, Fuji, or Sony. Please note that these are separate rental items.

Manual Remote Operation. If TTL isn’t for you or you’re shooting with a non-Canon/Nikon/Sony camera, the D2 is also compatible with the Profoto Air Remote Transceiver.

Enhanced LCD and Intuitive Controls. The D2’s enhanced, intuitive LCD will flip to suit your working conditions, much like an iPhone. The Settings key gives you easy access to the Modeling Light, Ready Indicator, Mode, Sync, Channel, and Group options.

Overpower Any Light. The D2 is bright enough to overpower the available light in nearly any shooting situation. This makes it great for long-distance shooting, and for use with large light-shaping tools.

Q & A

Do all of your Profoto modifiers work with the Profoto D2 strobes?

The Profoto D2 is not compatible with any of Profoto’s OCF line of modifiers. This includes the Profoto Grid Kit for B1 / B2 Off Camera Flash Heads and Profoto OCF 24-inch White Beauty Dish.

Will I be able to fire this strobe at 20 fps with my camera?

Will your camera shoot 20 fps? While this strobe is capable of quick burst, most cameras are limited to slower shutter fps speeds. If you have any questions about specific gear, reach out to us here.

Does this rental include a light stand?

This rental doesn’t include a light stand. However, we do offer a variety of options for rent that can be found under Recommended on the left-hand side of this page.
We recommend the Manfrotto Alu Ranker 9ft Air-Cushioned Stand, the Manfrotto Alu Master 12ft Air-Cushioned Stand, and the Avenger 7.3ft Turtle Base C-Stand Twin Kit.

Does this rental include a Profoto Air Remote?

This rental doesn’t include a Profoto Air Remote. However, we do offer a variety of options for rent that can be found under Recommended on the left-hand side of this page.
We recommend the Profoto Air Remote TTL-F Transmitter for Fuji, the Profoto Air Remote TTL-C Transmitter for Canon, the Profoto Air Remote TTL-N Transmitter for Nikon, and the Profoto Air Remote TTL-S Transmitter for Sony.
