Fast Normal Zoom. With a 35mm focal length equivalent to 24-82.5mm, this lens is perfect for portraiture, wedding/event photography, and all-around general use. The fast f/2.8 aperture enables both low-light shooting capability and subject/background separation.

Twin Linear Autofocus Motor. Provides fast, nearly silent performance for still and video use. Its inner-focusing and inner-zooming design keeps the physical size of the lens the same while ensuring extremely fast operation.

Optics. The twelve-group/seventeen-element optical formula uses a combination of three ED elements and three aspherical elements to minimize optical aberrations and distortions throughout the zoom range. There are Nano-GI (Gradient Index) coatings that change the refractive index to suppress lens flare and ghosting in diagonal incident lighting, and Fuji’s standard HT-EBC coating to handle traditional lens flare and ghosting.
