Advanced Optics. The 40mm f/1.2’s six-group/eight-element optical design includes two aspherical elements, which provide exceptional sharpness and clarity while preventing spherical aberrations and distortion throughout the aperture range.

Manual Focus and Aperture. This lens’s manual-focus design gives you smooth, precise control over focus placement, and its manual aperture ring with 1/3-stop clicks allows for optimum exposure control. It has a 0.16x maximum magnification ratio and a 1.2-foot minimum focusing distance. Even though this is a manually focusing lens, it transfers EXIF data to the camera so that you can use in-camera stabilization, magnification, and other features.
