The SLR Magic Anamorphot-Cine 1.33x 50mm T2.8 PL is a budget-friendly anamorphic lens for PL-mount cameras and camcorders. Key features include:
Single focus point; 1.33x squeeze factor
Advanced optical design for high-quality images
Geared manual focus and aperture rings
Built-in 2.0 anamorphic mask
50mm T2.8. We carry three different focal lengths in the Anamorphot-Cine 1.33x line, with this one being the 50mm T2.8. If you need the additional focal lengths, see Recommended section on left-hand side of this page.
Single Focus Point. To get anamorphic on a budget, you typically have to use a two-step process with an adapter and a spherical taking lens. The SLR Magic Anamorphot-Cine lens combines everything into one unit. This simplifies your setup—you no longer have to line up your optics to get the squeeze right or worry about whether your lens is too wide to support the adapter. And, most importantly, focus is simplified to a single control mechanism, meaning you can actually pull and rack focus within a scene.
1.33x Squeeze. This lens’s unique 1.33x squeeze factor maximizes 16:9 sensors’ resolutions to create a wide 2.35:1 aspect ratio. If you want to go wide with your composition, these are the lenses for you.
High-Quality Multi-Coated Optics. The custom optical components support high-resolution sensors, while the lens coating provides elegant flaring.
Fully Manual. This lens provides no electronic communication with the camera. You must make all aperture and focus adjustments manually on the lens itself. Its geared iris and focus rings let you use follow-focus units or lens motors for focus or iris pulling. The aperture you select won’t be displayed on the camera, and it won’t show up in the EXIF data.
Internal 2.0 Anamorphic Mask. The built-in mask exaggerates this lens’s anamorphic flare effect to simulate the look of a 2x anamorphic element without affecting the 1.33x optical anamorphic effect.
Rotating Front. The 82mm front filter thread allows you to screw in filters, but it rotates as you focus, which can affect your choice of matte box and use of polarizer filters.
