High-Quality Optics. The IB/E Optics PLx2 Optical Extender 2x (PL) features high-index, low-dispersion glass elements to ensure the highest-possible optical performance. This design is optimized for digital cameras and lenses at focal lengths of 50mm or greater. At wider focal lengths, you generally get improved sharpness and contrast as you stop down the aperture.
Broad Compatibility. The PLx2 is designed to accommodate a wide range of PL-mount lenses. You can mount it to any digital cinema camera with a native PL mount, and it’ll clear the spinning mirror on ARRI and Aaton 35mm cameras. This extender projects an image with a large enough diameter to cover many commonly used 35mm formats including 5K on Red Epic and 4:3 full-frame on Alexa. Its minimum image circle projection is 34.5mm, and its maximum input aperture is f/1.9.
