The Canon EOS R10 is a sleek APS-C mirrorless camera that packs a lot of power and functionality into a compact design. Key features include:
24.2MP APS-C Sensor. The Canon EOS R10’s versatile 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor is ideal for photo and video applications alike. It produces low-noise, high-resolution stills; UHD 4K30p when oversampled from a 6K area; UHD 4K video at 60p using a cropped portion of the sensor; and Full HD 120p video.
DIGIC X Image Processor. The DIGIC X Image Processor supports continuous shooting rates up to 23 fps with a silent electronic shutter or 15 fps with a mechanical shutter and AF and AE tracking. It also offers great low-light performance with a native ISO sensitivity of 100-32,000 that’s extendable to 100-51,200.
UHD 4K Capture. In addition to its still-shooting power, the R10 can use its full sensor width to produce high-res, 8-bit UHD 4K30p internal video by oversampling 4K footage taken from 6K capture. It can capture UHD 4K60p using a cropped 3840 × 2160 pixel region of the sensor, and you also get 120p capture at up to Full HD resolution for slow-motion playback. This camera is also capable of recording HDR-PQ, both internally and via its micro-HDMI port, which supports clean 4K output at up to 60 fps.
Dual-Pixel CMOS Autofocus II. Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus II system provides extremely fast and accurate live view autofocus performance. It features 651 automatic autofocus points that cover the entire sensor area. This phase-detection focusing system offers enhanced subject detection—it can recognize and track people, animals, and vehicles. The subject-detection mode is separate from the face/eye detection feature, so face/eye detection remains active even if you turn subject detection off. The AF areas include three AF zones whose size and shape you can customize.
Lens Compatibility. From the jump, you get full compatibility with a wide range of new and legacy Canon RF-S, EF-S, and full-frame RF-mount lenses.
OLED Electronic Viewfinder and Touchscreen LCD. The R10’s 2.36m-dot, 0.95x-magnification OLED EVF is bright, clear, and designed for high-resolution eye-level viewing. It’s virtually lag-free and has a 120 fps refresh rate for accurate portrayal of motion. The large 3.0-inch 1.04m-dot vari-angle touchscreen LCD monitor is great for shooting, image review, and live-view monitoring. Its 180° upward and 45° downward tilting design makes it great for shooting from high and low angles.
Memory, Power, and Connectivity. This camera has a single UHS-II SDHC/XC memory-card slot, and uses the Canon LP-E17 battery with a rated output of up to 340 shots per charge using the LCD, or up to 210 shots per charge using the EVF. There’s built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to control the camera, review images, and transfer files from a compatible iOS/Android device with Canon’s Camera Connect app. You also get a USB Type-C port, a micro-HDMI port, and a 3.5mm mic port to help with video recording.
Next-Gen Multi-Function Shoe. This updated shoe has a row of pins at the front to support more accessories than a conventional shoe and to provide power to certain types of accessories that ordinarily use separate batteries. Among other accessories, this shoe is compatible with the Canon ST-E10 Speedlite Transmitter, the Canon DM-E1D Stereo Mic, and the Canon AD-E1 Multi-Function Shoe Adapter, the last of which gives you compatibility with legacy shoe-mounted accessories.
