The Sony ZV-E10 II Mirrorless Camera (Black) is a compact, video-focused mirrorless camera with an expanded feature set optimized for content creators, vloggers, and influencers. It’s an update to the original Sony ZV-E10. Key features include:

  • Designed for content creators, vloggers, and influencers

  • Internal 4K 60p video with S-Cinetone, S-Log3, and more

  • 759-point autofocus system with updated algorithm

  • Right-hand grip and 3.0-inch side flip-out touchscreen LCD

What’s Changed? The Sony ZV-E10 II Mirrorless Camera (Black) is a serious update to the previous-gen ZV-E10. It uses the markedly faster 26MP BSI CMOS sensor from the a6700 and FX-30 to capture 4K60p 10-bit video and to otherwise improve its performance. There are updated autofocus algorithms, a focus-breathing compensation feature, and the Cinematic Vlog mode first seen in the ZV-1 II. This camera uses the higher-capacity NP-FZ100 battery, which affords you much longer shooting times.

Designed for Content Creators and Influencers. Like its predecessor, the ZV-E10 II was designed for content creators. Its rear LCD with side flip-out design, built-in front-facing three-capsule mic, Face Priority Auto-Exposure, Soft Skin effect, Background Defocus feature, Product Showcase setting, Active Mode electronic image-stabilization system, oversized REC button, comfortable right-hand grip, 3.5mm mic and headphone ports, and compact, lightweight design all make it a particularly vlogger-friendly camera.

Side Flip-Out LCD and Audio Options. A rear 3.0-inch, 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD features a side flip-out design that’s great for filming yourself and taking selfies with ease. A built-in tally lamp puts a red border around the LCD while you’re filming, and the LCD will change its orientation from landscape to portrait if you’re filming vertically. The camera’s top plate incorporates a directional three-capsule mic built for forward-directional audio recording, and there’s a Multi-Interface Shoe to accommodate external mics and accessories. A 3.5mm mic input and a 3.5mm headphone port give you everything you need to record and monitor audio on the fly.

26MP APS-C CMOS Sensor and BIONZ XR Processor. The ZV-E10 II revolves around a 26MP APS-C Exmor CMOS image sensor and a BIONZ XR image processor working in tandem to create images with reduced noise at high sensitivities. The ISO range covers a base level from 100-32,000, but it’s expandable to ISO 102,400 for even better performance in low light. This sensor and processor combination lets you shoot bursts at up to 11 fps until you fill up the 1000 JPEG/59 RAW compressed buffer.

UHD 4K 60p Capture. The ZV-E10 Mark II borrows its video functionality from higher-end Sony cameras, and can internally record 10-bit UHD 4K 60p, 30p, and 24p video. All of the 4K footage is taken from oversampled capture—6K for frame rates up to 30p, and 5.6K with a 1.1x crop for 50p and 60p frame rates—all of which uses full pixel readout without any binning. When not shooting 4K, you can record Full HD video anywhere between 1-120 frames per second for expressive slow and fast motion. Both 4K and Full HD resolutions use 600 Mb/s XAVC HS and XAVC S-I formats with 4:2:2 sampling. You also get S-Cinetone and S-Log3 gammas, which give you an effective 14-stop dynamic range with increased grading control in the image’s shadow to mid-tone regions. For more demanding shoots, ZV-10 II has a Micro-HDMI output for uncompressed 4K 4:2:2 video to an external recorder, and a 5 Gbps USB Type-C data output port lets you use the Mark II as a 4K 30p webcam, livestream to social-media platforms, and transfer data to supported devices via the Sony Creators app.

Cinematic Vlog Mode. Cinematic Vlog mode, which you can activate with a single press of an onscreen button, instantly gives you a more cinematic look by giving you a 2.35:1 cinematic widescreen crop and 24 fps frame rate, although the footage is still output at 16:9 UHD. Cinematic Vlog mode also gives you the option to apply Moods—which adjust color response, and Looks—which adjust tonal response and contrast, in any combination to give your videos the exact vibe you want.

Improved Phase-Detection Autofocus. This autofocus system’s fast, hybrid 759-point phase-detection and subject-recognition algorithms have been updated for improved performance. The ZV-E10 II boasts Real-Time Eye AF technology, which uses AI-based object recognition to detect and process eye data in real time so that focus on the subject’s eye will be as sharp as possible. When you’re working with recognized Sony lenses, a focus-breathing compensation function will crop into the narrowest effective field of view and make adjustments to the crop and scaling to keep framing consistent even as the focusing distance changes.

Advanced Controls. This camera offers control options optimized for content creators. There’s a giant Record button for ease of use when vlogging, and a dedicated function button that can be programmed to offer quick adjustments of several different functions, allowing users to forego menu diving. You also get dedicated Movie Record, Background Defocus, Product Showcase, and S&Q buttons that give you immediate access to popular vlogging features. The large, comfortable right-hand grip was designed with one-handed use in mind, a built-in zoom lever surrounds the shutter button and works with select Power Zoom lenses.

Built-In Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Integrated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi let you instantly transfer images to your mobile device so that you can easily share them on social media, in email, and to the cloud. Once you’ve connected the camera to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, it can display a live-view image on its screen. You can use the Sony Creators app to connect to a smartphone using a QR code. The Creators app app lets you create time-lapse movies, edit your footage, and more.

User Flexibility. The ZV-E10 II records images/video to SDHC/XC memory cards (not included) and is powered by the popular NP-FZ100 rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which is rated for roughly 610 shots per charge. Please note that 4K video capture in S-Log2 and S-Log3 requires a UHS-1 Class 3 or faster memory card.
