Sennheiser Quality Shotgun. The Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun microphone has the sturdy build quality we’ve come to expect from Sennheiser. Although this 10" all-metal mic is longer than other comparable shotgun mics, it’s still very well suited for mounting directly on your camera, tripod, or boompole!

High Sensitivity, Low Gains. This MKE 600 provides an interface tube and a supercardioid/lobar polar pattern to deliver powerful and effective sound that can’t usually be obtained with a regular omnidirectional mic. The high sensitivity and low-noise gains of this microphone improves your sound quality without sacrificing tangible audio when using noisy camera preamps.

Battery or Phantom Powered. You have a couple options when it comes to fueling the MKE 600. This mic has a single AA battery slot, which can power the mic for up to 150 hours, but please note that this rental does not include any AA batteries. On the other hand, Phantom power from handheld audio recorders, field recorders, or mixer adapters is also available when using a separately available XLR/XLR cable. We include an XLR/3.5mm TRS coiled cable to add to a camera, but you will need a AA battery to operate the mic this way.

What else will I need?
- To use this mic with a camera, you’ll need the included XLR/3.5mm TRS coiled cable, but that will not power the mic. You will need a AA battery inserted in the mic for it to be powered & work with the camera. If you don’t have one on hand, you can find some options here!
- To use Phantom power via handheld recorders or mixer adapters, you will need an XLR/XLR cable. You can find a list of compatible options in the Recommended section on your screen.
