The Profoto D2 500/500 AirTTL 2-Light Kit is an extremely fast, extremely powerful, all-in-one studio lighting solution. Key features include:

This kit was put together for simplicity’s sake. There are numerous options available to build out a twin-head strobe kit, but sometimes you just want a straight-forward option. That’s what you’ll get here.

It’s based around the versatile D2 500Ws AirTTL Monolight, which offer 500Ws of power with an ultra-fast recycle time, 20fps high-speed strobing and 10-stop adjustable range.

For supporting the strobes, we’ve chosen two Matthews 7ft lightstands for their compact size and reasonably high load capacity. Rounding out the simple kit are a pair of 41-inch shallow silver umbrellas.

How is this kit powered?

This kit is powered via a power outlet. If you need an on-location, battery-powered solution with the same power output, check out the Profoto B1X.

Do you include any modifiers/reflectors with the rental?

We include two Profoto 41" shallow silver umbrellas with the D2 kit. If you are looking for alternative modifiers, check out the Recommended section on the left-hand side of this page or check out some of our Profoto compatible modifiers here.
Please note that the Profoto D2 is not compatible with any of Profoto’s OCF line of modifiers. This includes the Profoto Grid Kit for B1 / B2 Off Camera Flash Heads and Profoto OCF 24-inch White Beauty Dish.

Will I be able to fire this strobe at 20 fps with my camera?

Will your camera shoot 20 fps? While this strobe is capable of quick burst, most cameras are limited to slower shutter fps speeds. For instance, the Sony A9 will only trigger a strobe in mechanical shutter settings and is limited to 5 fps, while the Canon 1DX MkII is only capable of 16 fps.

Do you include a light stand?

Yes indeed! We include two Matthews 7-foot reverse stands with this kit.

Do you include a Profoto Air Remote?

We do not include a Profoto Air Remote with the rental, but you can see some options under Recommended on the right-hand side of this page or here.

Do all of your Profoto modifiers work with the Profoto D2 strobes?

The Profoto D2 is not compatible with any of Profoto’s OCF line of modifiers. This includes the Profoto Grid Kit for B1 / B2 Off Camera Flash Heads and Profoto OCF 24-inch White Beauty Dish.
