The Fuji GFX 100 II Medium Format Mirrorless is a versatile, compact, professional-grade medium-format mirrorless camera and a substantial update to the original Fuji GFX 100. Key features include:

  • 102MP 43.8 × 32.9mm medium-format CMOS sensor

  • Full-frame 4K 60p and 1.53x cropped 8K 30p video

  • Continuous still shooting at up to 8 fps

  • AI-adaptive subject-recognition AF; 8-stop in-body IS

What’s Changed? The Fuji GFX 100 II Medium Format Mirrorless offers a few substantial updates to the original Fuji GFX 100, some of which are borrowed from the more compact GFX 100S. It has greatly enhanced video capabilities, including up to 8K 30p capture at a 1.53x crop; an updated sensor with a greater full-well capacity; a faster imaging processor; a new film-simulation mode; a more precise autofocus system with subject recognition; a CFexpress Type B memory-card slot; a four-shot pixel-shift shooting mode; native Frame.io camera-to-cloud integration; a smaller, single-grip body; and a smaller battery.

Fuji G-Mount. The larger medium-format sensor requires lenses with a larger image circle, thus was born the G-mount. As it’s designed for mirrorless, the G-mount features a short flange back distance of just 26.7mm. Fuji X-mount lenses aren’t compatible with the medium-format GFX 100 II.

102MP Medium-Format Mirrorless. The Fuji GFX 100 II uses a 102MP 43.8 × 32.9mm CMOS sensor for superior sharpness, accuracy, and image quality in a variety of lighting conditions. You get a broad ISO 80-12800 sensitivity range that can be extended to ISO 40-102400, while each pixel’s large size makes for efficient light gathering.

X-Processor 5 Imaging Processor. With large amounts of data captured, the GFX 100 II needs a versatile and powerful processor to handle the load. The X-Processor 5 fits the bill, giving you continuous shooting at up to 8 fps, and DCI and UHD 4K 60p full-sensor video capture and cropped 8K 30p capture. It also gives you a range of Film Simulation modes, including the new Reala ACE mode.

Advanced Video Capabilities. As mentioned above, the GFX 100 II’s combination of large sensor and fast processor means that it can internally capture UHD and DCI video in 4:2:2 10-bit Apple ProRes at up to 8K 30p using a 1.53x sensor crop, or at up to 4K 60p using the sensor’s full width. If you’re using HDMI, it can capture 12-bit 4:2:2 Apple ProRes RAW or Blackmagic RAW at up to the previously mentioned resolutions. You can use the separately available Fuji FAN-001 Cooling Fan to extend 4K 60p video recording time from 151 minutes to unlimited recording, and to extend 8K 30p video recording time from 107 minutes to 137 minutes. The fan also helps keep the camera running on extended shoots when temperatures creep above 100°F.

Multiple Aspect Ratios. You can adapt this camera to various aspect ratios, including 1:1, 3:2, 4:3, 5:4, 7:6, 16:9, and 65:24.

Anamorphic Support. The GFX 100 II includes a degree of support for anamorphic lenses. Its anamorphic modes duplicate the options you’d get with a 35mm image circle and let you view a de-squeezed preview during shooting, playback, or both. This camera supports the 2x, 1.8x, 1.5x, 1.33x, and 1.3x squeeze ratios.

Hybrid Autofocus System. This camera’s updated on-sensor autofocus system uses 425 selectable points to cover almost the entire sensor area, and it’s sensitive down to -7 EV for working in truly low light. This focusing system uses a deep-learning backed AI-adaptive algorithm to offer improved tracking of a wide range of subject types. The Face and Eye Detection capabilities have been refined for even greater accuracy, and to account for features and accessories like glasses, masks, and hairlines. The autofocus system can now recognize an even greater array of subjects, including cars, motorcycles, trains, planes, cats, dogs, birds, horses, and more. If you’re coming from a modern-day DSLR, you’ll be happy to know that the GFX 100 II has a dedicated joystick for intuitive AF-point selection. Face and Eye-Detection AF modes are available when you’re working in AF-C mode and when you’re recording video.

Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization. The in-body five-axis sensor-shift image-stabilization system reduces the appearance of camera shake by up to eight stops, which is crucial when you’re working at slower shutter speeds or in difficult lighting conditions. Image stabilization works with any lens, including non-stabilized lenses.

Pixel-Shift Multishot Modes. The GFX 100 II includes the Pixel-Shift Multishot mode found in previous Fuji cameras, which takes multiple exposure in rapid succession, shifting the image sensor by half a pixel between each shot and then uses Fuji’s Pixel-Shift Combiner software to combine RAW images into one single, highly detailed 400MP image. It also features a new 4-image Pixel-Shift Multishot mode that cancels the Bayer filter by capturing red, green, and blue information for each pixel position and boosts tonal quality by combining four frames.

Tilting Touchscreen LCDOLED EVF, and Status LCD. The removable 9.44m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder features 1.00x magnification while offering 100% coverage, a 120 fps live view, and 5 fps of blackout-free shutter use. It connects to the camera via hot shoe and includes its own hot shoe so you can use compatible external flashes. You also get a tilting 3.2-inch, 2.36M-dot rear touchscreen LCD for navigating menus, controlling image playback, shooting in live view, and selecting focus area. An added 2.1-inch monochrome status LCD on the camera’s top plate lets you instantly review your shooting settings.

Build, Power, and Memory. The GFX 100 II features a weather- and dust-resistant build, and it’s capable of operating in temperatures as low as 14º Fahrenheit. It has a CFexpress Type B slot and a UHS-II SDHC / XC slot, and the included rechargeable NP-W235 battery is rated for an estimated 540 shots per charge when combined.

Native Frame.io Camera-to-Cloud Functionality. You can use this camera’s built-in Wi-Fi or Ethernet LAN connectivity to instantly upload your Apple ProRes proxy video files and JPEGHEIF, or RAW stills to the Frame.io cloud platform with full TPN+ and SOC 2 Type 2 compliant encryption. Uploading your videos and shots to the cloud from your shooting location lets you speed up your workflow with real-time access and editing from anywhere. For more information, please click here.

This camera does NOT include a separate battery charger, it charges the battery in-camera with the supplied USB C cable and power adapter. If you'd like to rent a separate battery charger, please check it out here.
