Canon RF Mount. The Canon RF 28mm f/2.8 STM belongs to Canon’s line of RF-mount lenses. It’s compatible with Canon RF-mount cameras, but does not work with Canon EF-mount cameras.
Bright Wide-Angle Prime. This lens’s classic wide-angle field of view, fast aperture, and compact pancake build make it great for a range of applications, including street photography, travel photography, and video. Its rounded seven-blade diaphragm gives your shots a pleasing bokeh quality, and its bright f/2.8 aperture gives you substantial control over depth of field and lets you work in low light. Using an APS-C camera? You’ll get a 45mm-equivalent focal length.
Advanced Optical Design. This lens’s six-group/eight-element optical construction includes three precision-molded aspherical elements that help combat spherical aberrations and distortions for accurate rendering and maximum sharpness. A Super Spectra Coating has been applied to each element to boost contrast and color neutrality, and to minimize ghosting and flare.
Built-In Autofocus. This lens uses a ring-type Stepping Motor to provide fast, accurate, and nearly silent autofocus performance for both still and video shooters. You also get full-time manual-focus override for precision adjustments. The 9.1-inch minimum focusing distance and 0.17x maximum magnification let you get in close while retaining great depth of field.
Configurable Control Ring. This RF-mount lens features an integrated, configurable control ring that you can use to adjust a range of exposure settings, including ISO, aperture, and exposure compensation.
High-Quality Construction. This lens boasts a weather-resistant build that protects against the elements so you can use it in adverse conditions without worry.
No. By default, Canon doesn’t ship this lens with a hood.
No. Since this is an entirely different physical mount, RF-mount lenses won’t mount to EF-mount cameras.
