The Canon 5D Mark IV seems to be everything we wanted in the 5D3 successor. A 30.4MP sensor with extended ISO performance up to 102400 is the main meat and potatoes. We welcome the same CF & SD card slots of the 5D Mark III in place of the much more expensive CFast 2.0 memory cards that Canon used in the 1DX Mark II. The autofocus system looks to be improved over the 5D Mark III with the 61-point system, of which 41 are cross-type. All AF points now support f/8, great for sports and wildlife shooters using long lenses with extenders. Metering has been improved thanks to a 150,000 RGB + IR sensor. The fastest drive mode now fires at 7fps, up 1fps from the Mark III. BUILT-IN Wi-Fi is finally in a 5D camera! This will allow you to transfer images directly to your phone from the camera to make sharing super easy. Built-in GPS and NFC capability are also welcome improvements. Video shooters will love that the 5DIV will shoot DCI 4K (4096x2160) at either 24p or 30p, albeit at a slightly strange 1.74x crop. Canon has also taken a page out of Nikon's book with the timelapse movie mode; shoot a continuous timelapse in camera and the camera will spit out a finished movie for you. Canon uses the new LP-E6N batteries, though it will still work great with the older LP-E6 batteries, too. USB 3.0 & HDMI mini ports finish off the impressive features of the workhorse of the Canon lineup.

Please read the instruction manual here.

As of 9.20.16, Adobe has updated Lightroom CC to work with RAW files from the 5D Mark IV!

A brief note about RAW compatibility with new cameras: Software manufacturers need time to properly add Camera RAW profiles to their software. New cameras typically will not have RAW support for the first few weeks/months of their release. :( Adobe has updated their DNG converter (downloadable here) which should work for you. Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for making sure RAW files from a new camera work with your particular computer and software so please check compatability before renting.

Certain third party lenses may exhibit a weird circular pattern when used with the 5DMIV. To correct, navigate to red menu 1 and find Lens Abberation Correction and turn Peripheral illum corr to OFF.
