Product Updates. The Ninja V+ 5.2" 8K HDMI Recorder w/ Accessory Kit is an upgrade to the previous Atomos Ninja V 5-inch 4K HDMI Recorder that adds a new processor capable of recording RAW 8K/30p and RAW 4K/120p from compatible cameras. H.264 recording is included out of the case, for 10-bit 4:2:2 capture at bitrates up to 350 Mbps. The form factor and screen’s specs are unchanged.

RAW, ProRes, & DNxHR Recording. The Atomos Ninja V+ records DCI as well as UHD 4K with frame rates up to 120p, and footage can be saved in ProRes or DNxHR formats. Recorded files will have a maximum of 10-bit 4:2:2 chroma subsampling. This recorder is also capable of recording up to 8K/30p RAW from compatible cameras like the Canon EOS R5.

5-Inch, 1000 cd/m², IPS LCD Screen. This recorder has a bright, daylight-viewable LCD panel with touchscreen controls. The 1920×1080, 423 ppi resolution provides super crisp images on the 5" display, and the 10-bit bit depth renders rich, accurate colors.

AtomHDR Display. The traditional Rec.709 video standard is based on an 8-bit color depth and about 6.5 stops of dynamic range. The Ninja V’s monitor features a wide 10-stop dynamic range, making it capable of natively displaying log footage without it looking washed out. Built-in presets for Sony, Canon, Panasonic, ARRI, RED, and JVC cameras convert the typically flat-looking log-based images into vibrant HDR pictures. Please note that the preset looks will only actually affect viewing; the recorded footage remains totally unaltered.

HDMI-Only Interface. The Ninja V+ offers full-size HDMI input and output ports. Please note that the Ninja V does not support any RAW signals via the SDI adapter and there is no cross conversion of HDMI / SDI signals.

Media & Power. This recorder takes the same Master Caddy II SSD enclosure that has been used for the last few generations of Atomos products, and this rental includes two to install your own SSDs into. Power is provided by one Hawk-Woods DV-F590 battery or an AC adapter. We include two batteries with this rental. SSD media and larger power kits are separately rentable.
