What’s Changed? Building off of the design of its predecessor, this FE 100-400mm f/4.5 GM OSS from Sony offers improved performance at the long end of the range through an updated constant f/4.5 aperture. The updated ED XA, XA, Super ED, and ED lens elements are equipped with Nano AR Coating II to deliver sharp, rich, and vivid capture while suppressing flares. Offering an increase to the amount of rounded diaphragm blades from 9 to 11 creates creamy, smooth bokeh quality when you’re using selective-focus techniques. With a new focus floating design, this lens offers high image quality throughout the entire focal range and a massively decreased minimum focusing distance of just 2.1-feet.

Full-Frame E-mount. As a part of the FE line of lenses, the FE 100-400mm f/4.5 GM OSS is designed for Sony full-frame cameras. It’s also fully compatible with APS-C cameras, on which it’ll provide a 150-600mm equivalent focal length.
