Its bright f/2.8 constant aperture lets you shoot in a range of lighting conditions while giving you excellent depth-of-field control. The rounded nine-blade diaphragm helps create smooth bokeh when you’re using selective-focus techniques.

XD Linear Motor Autofocus System. This system provides fast, nearly silent, and highly accurate autofocus performance that’s great for still and video use. A dedicated focus hold button and AF/MF switch help to tailor focusing to your shooting needs.

Advanced Optics. The E 16-55mm f/2.8 G’s twelve-group/seventeen-element design includes four aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements to minimize chromatic aberrations, and to produce clear, high-contrast images. Nikon has applied Nano Crystal and Super Integrated coatings to the elements to combat ghosting and lens flare, even when you’re working in bright or backlit conditions.
