The Sonifex AVN-CU4 Configurable Dante Commentary Unit is a sleek and configurable hub designed to support between three and four commentators through Dante AoIP or 4-wire connections. Key features include:

Broadcast and Commentary Solution. Power through virtually any event or broadcast with the versatile Sonifex AVN-CU4 Configurable Dante Commentary Unit! Capable of hosting up to four commentators, this unit supports modern AoIP and traditional workflows thanks to both Dante AoIP and 4-wire connections.

Inputs and Outputs Galore. This unit operates with four locking XLR mic/line inputs that are equipped with with +48V phantom power and a wide gain range, four stereo headphone outputs with locking 1/4" jack sockets for commentators, and four XLR line inputs/six XLR line outputs that are able to act as concurrent analog backups to your Dante AoIP connections.

Dante Connectivity and Audio Routing. Supporting up to 16 configurable AoIP input and output channels with 16 Dante AoIP streams, the AVN-CU4 uses programmable buttons and rotary encoders to seamlessly route audio signals between physical and AoIP connections. Additionally, two locking Ethernet ports deliver connectivity for AoIP, and using the Dante Controller interface, can function in either redundant or switched mode.

User-Friendly Controls and Operation. The AVN-CU4’s programmable and customizable interface provides broadcasting techs with a slew of knobs and buttons to perfect the production’s needs. This unit features 12 rotary encoders buttons for pan/tilt/level adjustments, four On-Air buttons to connect mic audio to the main output (AoIP or AES Digital), a menu button, page buttons for up to 8 pages of pre-programmed changes in the display and encoders to monitor various mix points or outputs, 4 cough buttons, 8 talkback buttons, 12 rotary encoders, and 3 user-programmed buttons for any function of your choice. As a preventative measure when less-techy hosts and commentators are using the system, all buttons and rotary encoders can be locked out from use. Additionally, the AVN-CU4 is capable of being remotely controlled from the web interface!

Flexible Fueling. While this unit supports Power over Ethernet+ (PoE+) through the AVN-CU4’s Neutrik etherCON connectors, this unit is also equipped with an additional 4 pin XLR 12V DC input for an optional PSU. An AC input mains with the universal power supply.
