Advanced Optical Design. This lens’s complex thirteen-group/eighteen-element optical design includes a mix of Extra-Low Dispersion elements and High-Refractive Index elements, all of which work together to produce incredible sharpness, contrast, and color accuracy across the entire zoom range while reducing color fringing, spherical aberrations, and distortions. It works in conjunction with Focus Stacking functions that automatically move the focus position between exposures. A floating focus design maintains sharpness throughout the focusing range, and you can use the MF clutch to quickly switch to manual-focus mode for more precision adjustments. The focus-limiter switch lets you constrain the available focusing range for faster performance, and an L-Fn button on the side of the lens lets you make adjustments without taking your eye away from the camera’s viewfinder.

The 90mm is compatible with the Olympus MC-14 1.4x Teleconverter and Olympus MC-20 2x Teleconverter, which will extend its maximum magnification to 2.8x and 4x, respectively. We strongly suggest that you use a tripod or monopod with these teleconverters if you want usable results.
