Nikon Z System. The Nikon Z 35mm f/1.7 DX was designed specifically for crop-frame DX-mount cameras in Nikon’s Z-mount system. Z-mount lenses only work with Z-mount cameras, and Z-mount cameras are only compatible with Z-mount lenses.

Ultra-Fast Standard Prime. The 35mm f/1.7 DX’s versatile 52.5mm-equivalent focal length makes it great for a wide array of uses, including portrait, still-life, street, and landscape photography. The extremely bright f/1.7 aperture offers extensive depth-of-field control when working with selective-focus techniques, and allows you to keep shooting even in very low light. A seven-group/eight-element optical system includes one extra-low dispersion element and two aspherical elements for sharpness, clarity, and accurate color rendering.

Stepping-Motor Autofocus System. This system uses a stepping motor to deliver fast, smooth, highly accurate, and nearly silent autofocus operation. You also get full-time manual focusing for precision adjustments, while the clickless control ring and ability to suppress focus breathing make it great for video capture. An 6.3-inch minimum focusing distance lets you get in close, but you’ll get razor-sharp image clarity regardless of the focusing distance you’re using. The internal focusing design means the lens maintains its compact size while you’re using it.

Compact, Lightweight Build. This lens’s durable, dust- and drip-resistant construction means you can use it in adverse conditions without worry. It’s a compact 3.4 inches long and weighs roughly half a pound. A programmable control ring lets you adjust manual focus, aperture, or exposure compensation, and the 52mm front thread gives you plenty of filter options.
