What’s Changed? Continuing the long line of Osmo Mobile handheld gimbals, the Osmo 8 maintains a similar style as the previous Osmo 7P, with a few key updates. Most notably, this 8th generation stabilizer provides support for Apple’s Apple DockKit, which allows users like you to subject track directly within the native iPhone camera or any of the 200+ compatible iOS applications. While this stabilizer includes the same Multifunctional Module as its predecessor, it attachment is a bit more secure thanks to a stronger, updated magnetic phone mount. Often forgotten in system updates yet frequently filmed, your run-of-the-mill cats and dogs can now be subject tracked, too! Finally, this gimbal now supports 360° pan rotation, allowing you to lock in on fast-moving subjects, even if they’re circling you like a Nascar track.

A Home Fit For A Smartphone. You can mount any smartphone up to 3.3-inches wide in its phone cradle, and the magnetic phone holder allows for simple and fast mounting and unmounting. The integrated intelligent sensor even tells you when your smartphone is mounted. Once your smartphone is connected, you can use the extension rod to stretch the gimbal out to 8.5-inches for a higher reach.

Built-In-Battery Power. The built-in battery runtime is approximately 10 hours, and it takes approximately 2.5 hours to charge using the included USB Type-C cable.

App Compatibility The DJI Mimo app connects via Bluetooth 5 to provide multiple shooting modes and functions, including Sport, Portrait, Underslung, Landscape, Time-Lapse, Motion-Lapse, Hyperlapse, Panorama, Slow-Motion, Inception-style spin (SpinShot), and a Sport mode for fast-action shooting. In addition to using the joystick controls on the handle, you can also use hand gestures to control the gimbal to track your movement, take a selfie, or start/stop your smartphone camera, so you don’t have to press the record button or touch any controls.
