Palm-sized 5.7K, 360° Video Camera. The Insta360 ONE X is the follow up to the Insta360 ONE camera and its biggest change is removing the necessity of physically tethering the camera to a mobile device at all times. Now 360-degree, 5.7K, 30 fps video or 18MP photos can be saved to microSD cards up to 128GB. Video is stored in a 120mbps H.264 codec.
iOS & Android Apps. The Insta360 ONE X interfaces with a mobile app that is delightfully easy to use. Connect via WiFi to monitor your image, change settings, and transfer photos and video to your device for easy uploading. The app even features a simple editor for reframing 360 video and adding effects and music. Tether to that mobile device to enable options for livestreaming 360 video directly to popular services like facebook live and YouTube.
Battery Life & Record Time. This camera features a removable battery that provides up to one hour of continuous recording. The 120mbps codec will fill your microSD media at a rate of about one gigabyte per .9 minutes of recording for a theoretical maximum of 115 minutes on a 128GB card.
Other Notable Features. The built-in stabilization is pretty great on this camera without the need to reduce resolution with a post processing stabilizer. An HDR mode is available for photos, and hyperlapse, slow motion, and “Bullet Time” modes are available for video. Selfie sticks and small mounts are automatically removed from the image as an added bonus.
No. “Tether Wire and Screw for Bullet Time Effect” is marketing fluff for a piece of string tied to a screw. We don’t see this ever ending well, so we don’t send it by default.
Yes. This camera is only compatible with microSD cards up to 128GB in size.
Insta360 recommends UHS-1 microSD cards from name brand manufacturers of at least a V30 speed class.
