Convergent Design’s Odyssey7Q+ Monitor and Recorder retains all of the features that made their Odyssey7Q successful, and adds support for 4K HDMI video sources! Key features include:

  • Raw bundle upgrade

  • DCI and UHD 4K Recording over HDMI or SDI

  • 7.7-inch, 1280 × 800 OLED monitor with 3400:1 contrast

  • 3G/6G-SDI inputs; 3G-SDI outputs

4K HDMI Video Input. Record high-quality 4K video from some of today’s most popular small cameras like the a7S IIGH5, and GH5S.

High Frame Rate and RAW. This version of the Odyssey7Q+ includes the RAW bundle upgrade, allowing RAW recording with popular cameras like the Varicam LTSony FS7M2, and Canon C300 Mark II. The Odyssey7Q+ can continuously capture 4K RAW footage at up to 60 fps or 2K RAW footage at up to 240 fps with compatible camera models.

High-Quality Monitoring. The Odyssey7Q+ features a 7.7-inch, 1280 × 800 LCD with a 3400:1 contrast ratio. It also has many advanced image-analysis tools, including Vectorscope, Waveform, RGB Parade, and extensive LUTsupport.

Super High-Quality Recording. Don’t like that crummy old 4:2:0 file? No problem! This recorder captures video in compressed (4:2:2), lossless (4:4:4:4), or uncompressed Cinema DNG (4:4:4) formats.

Battery/AC Powered. This rental includes a Sony battery plate that allows the unit to be battery powered with the included batteries. This rental also includes an AC adapter for powering the unit via wall outlet.

Multiple SSDs Required. This rental doesn’t include any SSDs and they fill up quickly. Please note, this recorder requires specific SSDs and most RAW and HFR shooting modes require you to use two SSDs simultaneously.

  • What type of connector does the Odyssey7Q+’s HDMI input take?
    • This recorder’s HDMI input uses a mini connector (type C). If you need an full-size HDMI male (type A) to mini-HDMI male (type C) cable, you can find them here.

  • Which SSDs are compatible with this monitor/recorder?
    • The Odyssey 7Q requires Convergent-Design brand SSDs, which you can find here. This monitor isn’t compatible with standard, off-the-shelf 2.5-inch SSDs.

  • Does this rental include an SSD?
    • This rental doesn’t include any SSDs.
