Nikon D600 DSLR
Nikon's D600 is their first offering in the affordable Full-Frame DSLR market. A 24.3 MP Full Frame sensor, HD video capability, all wrapped in a D7000 sized package. This camera offers tremendous value and performance.
The Nikon D600 takes the successful crop-bodied D7000 camera and improves it by including an FX Full-Frame sensor. At 24.3 megapixels, the D600 achieves the same resolution as last generations flagship D3x at nearly 1/4 the cost. The D600 utilizes Nikon's 39-Point AF system carried forward from the D7000 with some updates.
One feature in particular on the D600 is that it retains the ability to autofocus with lenses that are operating at f/8 for certain AF points. This really opens up possibilities to use longer lenses with 1.4x or even 2.0x teleconverters.
The D600 uses dual SD cards giving you flexibility for your file storage. It also boasts a fairly impressive 5.5 fps making it suitable for capturing some basic action photos.
HD Video capability is also included. The D600 records at 1920x1080P at 24 fps or 30 fps. Higher frame rate work at 60 fps can be achieved at 720P resolution. Other helpful features include both an external mic input as well as a headphone jack for audio output monitoring.
Nikon has created a very impressive camera with the D600. Its an ideal camera for the enthusiast looking to step up to a full frame system, or for a seasoned pro who needs a solid backup body.
