Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G AF-S ED VR II
This is really the Mac daddy of telephoto zoom lenses. It does so many things well. On a full frame camera, the 70-200 range is marvelous and at f/2.8 throughout, it's great at producing those wonderfully blurry shallow depth of field portraits we all love. Of course, it's nearly a must have for wedding shooters. And for those of you who shoot indoor sports, please give this a try first. Any downsides? Sure, every lens has a downside. While this lens does do so many things so well, it's often expensive to purchase and it's a bit of a heavy guy. But for those needing the best in terms of image quality and flexibility, look no further!
