Canon 17-55 f/2.8 IS
Like all EF-S lenses, this lens is designed to be used only with the 50D/60D/7D bodies as well as the Digital Rebel series. And if you have one of those cameras, then this is the prefect lens for event shooting. A great focal range, fast f/2.8 aperture throughout and IS to boot. The images are sharp and the contrast is nice as well. It’s not built like an "L" lens but few people are disappointed with it’s performance.
