This is Canon's offering for the EF-S 1.6x crop cameras like the 50D/60D/7D and Digital Rebel series. It's a great all around vacation lens that also sports image stabilization. Like I tell everyone, "every lens is a sacrifice of something" and this one is no exception. It has wonderful focal range, it's not heavy and the new IS system works great. But if you're looking for a fast lens or one that has professional image quality, look elsewhere.
